Joel Malley, '00, '05 is coming back to campus to present "Teaching Writing in New Times: The Digital Writing Workshop," Tuesday, November 6, at 12:15 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center East 2.
The event, sponsored by the Western New York Network of English Teachers, is part of the organization’s 2012–2013 speakers series.
Malley teaches English at Cheektowaga Central High School and serves as the technology liaison for the Western New York Writing Project. He has considerable experience incorporating digital technologies into existing frameworks for teaching composition.
Malley, who has written about multimodal composing, has been profiled in the College Board report "Teachers are the Center of Education: Writing, Learning and Leading in the Digital Age."
The Western New York Network of English Teachers is a professional social network connecting English teachers and English teacher educators across the region. It works to support and encourage meaningful teaching and learning in the secondary English language arts.
