Marking what would have been Anne Frank's 81st birthday, the Anne Frank Project Garden was unveiled at Buffalo State on Saturday, June 12.

Located on the Rockwell Road facing side of Moot Hall, a two-ton boulder bearing a commemorative plaque is the centerpiece of this community garden to be used for quiet reflection.

Appropriately, the garden is shaded by a horse chestnut tree—the same kind of tree that provided Frank with a vision of life and comfort from the window of her hiding place in Amsterdam.  

Part of the Anne Frank Project, an ongoing awareness initiative founded by the Theater Department to "discover solutions towards an elevated human condition," the garden will be officially dedicated in September.

The fall 2010 Anne Frank Project, a celebration of Frank’s life and contributions, will be held September 15–17 on the Buffalo State Campus.
