Bream Wins Title; Indoor Track and Field Competes at State Championship Meet

ROCHESTER, NY--Buffalo State's indoor track and field teams competed at the NYSCTC Championships today at RIT's Gordon Field House, with the men placing 11th of 13 teams, and the women finishing 13th of 16.

Eric Bream (Lockport/Lockport) was the highlight of the meet for the Bengals, winning the New York State Championship in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:07.49. Joe Wooley (Amherst/Sweet Home) had a fifth place finish in the triple jump (12.87), and Todd Wassinger (Sanborn/Starpoint) broke his own school record in the weight throw (14.09 meters), placing ninth.

On the women's side, Camarra Winfrey (Buffalo/City Honors) placed fourth in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.56. LaVonne Barfield (Rochester/Wilson Magnet) also placed fourth in the triple jump, measuring 10.81 meters.
