Brockport Cruises Past Women’s Basketball

BUFFALO, NY—Ashley Broadhurst (Sauquoit/Utica Notre Dame) scored a game-high 31 points to lead visiting Brockport (16-3/9-1) past Buffalo State (7-12/3-7), 70-46, in a SUNYAC contest today at the Sports Arena.

Broadhurst was 10 of 15 from the field, including 6 of 7 from 3-point range. Brenlyn Campbell (Williamsville/Lew-Port) added 19 points, and Kim Schon (Lockport/Lockport) had six points, 12 rebounds and five assists.

Lindsay Smith (Ithaca/Ithaca) led Buffalo State with 14 points. Shareese Hamer (Erie, PA/Strong Vincent) had 12 points and seven boards, and Toya Parks (Brooklyn/MLK) netted 10 points.

Buffalo State hung tight in the early going and led 9-8, but Brockport pulled away and led 44-29 at the intermission. The Bengals never challenged in the second half, as the Golden Eagles extended their lead to as many as 26. Brockport shot 52-percent for the game, including 54-percent (7 of 13) from long range. Buffalo State hit just 34-percent from the floor and 25-percent from 3-point territory.

Buffalo State will next visit Fredonia next Saturday at 6 p.m.
