Brooks Named Women's Basketball SUNYAC Player of the Week

Buffalo State’s Jacey Brooks has been named the Women's Basketball Player of the Week in the State University of New York Athletic Conference.

Brooks helped lead Buffalo State to victories against fourth-place Geneseo and third-place Oswego last week. She averaged 14.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest to secure a fifth place finish in the SUNYAC for the Bengals.

Brooks was 9-of-15 from the floor and scored 21 points with nine rebounds in a 72-66 win over Geneseo on February 17. The sophomore forward also turned in a 14-point, six-rebound, two-steal effort in a 75-62 victory over Oswego on February 20.

Brooks is leading scorer for Buffalo State and her 13.4 points per game in the SUNYAC is sixth best.

The Bengals are seeded fifth among eight teams in this week’s SUNYAC Tournament. Buffalo State (13-12, 11-5) will play at fourth-seeded Geneseo (17-8, 11-5) in a quarterfinal game on Tuesday (Feb. 24) at 6:00 p.m.
