Buffalo State Names 2007 Young Alumnus Award Winners

The Buffalo State College Alumni Association has announced the names of five graduates who will be honored at the 2007 Young Alumnus Achievement Awards Reception on Friday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. in the Fireside Lounge of the Campbell Student Union.

The prestigious award, which recognizes the accomplishments of graduates of the last 20 years, will be presented to the following individuals for their professional advancement, dedication to the community and commitment to Buffalo State and its mission:

Jennifer (Whitson) Adams, ’99, Communications Director, Aspen Institute, Commission on No Child Left Behind, Washington, D.C.



Marc A. Batchelor, Esq., ’89, Vice President – Credit, Builders Bank, Business/Legal Counsel, Drug Free Kids: America’s Challenge, Inc., South Riding, Va.



Holly (Meier) Hubert, ’88, Supervisory Special Agent, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Williamsville, N.Y.



Joseline Pe?a-Melnyk, ’87, State Delegate, The Maryland House of Delegates, District 21, College Park, Md.



Kevin R. Ryan, M.S. ’05 , Special Agent, Department of Homeland Security, Immigration & Customs, Buffalo, N.Y.


If you are interested in attending the awards ceremony to honor a recipient, please contact the Alumni Affairs Office at (716) 878-6001 by Friday, Sept. 21. Tickets to the event are $15 and include a champagne toast, an hors d’oeuvre and dessert reception, along with a special memento. Lisa Flynn, WIVB-TV News Anchor and 2006 Young Alumnus Achievement Award Recipient, will emcee the festivities.
