Buffalo State Picked to Finish Third in SUNYAC Softball Poll
Buffalo State has been picked to finish third in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) 2005 Softball Coaches Poll.
Buffalo State finished second in the regular season last year with a conference record of 16-4. The Bengals were eliminated from the SUNYAC playoffs with a pair of extra inning losses, including a 1-0 decision in 16 innings against eventual-champion Oneonta.
The Bengals return starters at six of the eight field positions and have three of their four pitchers back from last year's team that went 26-14 overall. Leading the returnees are tri-captains Nadine Sirianni (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls), Heidi Rammacher (Angola/Lakeshore) and Lindsey Matheis (Hamburg/Williamsville South).
