Buffalo State Places 17 Student-Athletes on SUNYAC All-Academic Team

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its Commissioner's List and All-Academic Teams for the Fall 2002 semester. Buffalo State had 17 student-athletes earn All-Academic honors, and 14 named to the Commissioner's List.

To qualify for the All-Academic Team, the student-athlete must be a varsity athlete, have competed the entire fall season, and maintained at least a 3.3 grade-point-average for the Fall Semester. To appear on the Commisioner's List, the student-athlete must have maintained an overall GPA of 3.3 for at least three semesters.

The following athletes from Buffalo State earned All-Academic and Commisioner's List honors:

Dennis Behrens (Lancaster) - Men's Soccer; Lindsay Cashmore (Clarence) - Women's Soccer; Dave Chelus (W. Seneca East) - Football; Heather Dickerson (Wellsville) - Tennis; Tony Favata (Hamburg) - Football; Mike Herron (W. Seneca East) - Cross Country; Denise Jedynak (Frontier) - Volleyball; Amanda Johnson (Gonanda) - Women's Soccer; Jon Lewis (Newport, WALES) - Men's Soccer; Mike Pawlikowski (West Seneca East) - Football; Tammy Putt (Allegany) - Cross Country; Katie Sansone (Tonawanda) - Volleyball; Mike Strangio (Lewiston-Porter) - Men's Soccer; Krista Wierzbicki (Maryvale) - Volleyball

The following freshman athletes appeared on the Commisioner's List:

Jen Breier (Grand Island) - Volleyball; Michelle DelZoppo (Grand Island) - Volleyball; Bryan Voorhis (Panama Central) - Football
