Buffalo State's Anesetti Named ECAC West Goaltender of the Week
Buffalo State sophomore Shannon Anesetti (Cannonsburg, PA/Caron-McMillan) was named the ECAC West Women's Hockey Goaltender of the week after leading the Bengals to their first-ever victory over RIT last week.
Anesetti, an earth sciences major, finally allowed her first goal of the season against RIT on Wednesday, snapping a scoreless streak of more than 205 minutes. She made 31 saves on 32 shots, helping the team to a 3-1 win. She also made 56 saves in a pair of losses to Plattsburgh, the No. 2 ranked team in the nation, over the weekend.
Anesetti and the Bengals will face Brock University out of St. Catherines, Ontario tonight in an exhibition game at the Ice Arena at 7 p.m.
