Buffalo State freshman pitcher Aimee Fisher (Hamburg/Frontier) was named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week after helping the Bengals to a 9-3 start on their spring trip to Fort Myers, Fla.

After tossing a perfect game in her collegiate debut against St. Lawrence last week, the forensic chemistry major continued to roll this week, posting a 3-1 record and added a save. The freshman had a 0.78 ERA in five appearances, while striking out 26 and limiting the opposition to a .121 batting average. She threw her second career shutout in a two-hitter against Trinity (Conn.).

Fisher is 5-1 with a 1.09 ERA and 42 strikeouts for the season. She has also jumped out to a fast start at the plate with eight hits, including two doubles and a triple and leads the team with 12 RBIs.

Buffalo State will open conference play this Friday with a doubleheader at SUNYIT.
