Buffalo State's Monaco Named SUNYAC and ECAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week
Buffalo State senior Gina Monaco (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Upstate Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 11.
Monaco, an elementary education major, led the Bengals to a 2-0-1 week with two assists in a 3-1 win over RIT, scored the first three goals of a 9-0 victory over Penn State-Altona and helped the team to a 1-1 tie with Marietta.
Monaco is Buffalo State's all-time leading goal and point scorer with 59 and 137 respectively. This season, she leads the team with four goals and four assists. She has helped the Bengals to a school-record six-game unbeaten streak dating back to last season, including a 4-0-1 start to the 2005 campaign.
