Buffalo States Thomas Captures Weekly Mens Hockey Conference Recognition

FREDONIA, NY—Buffalo State’s D’Arcy Thomas (Gatineau, PQ/Philemon Wright) was named SUNYAC Men’s Hockey Rookie of the Week after helping lead the Bengals past Fredonia on Friday night.

Thomas, a freshman forward, scored two goals and added an assist as Buffalo State downed host Fredonia, 6-4. The earth sciences major finished the regular season second among SUNYAC freshman in scoring with 14 goals and 13 assists for 27 points.

With the win over Fredonia, Buffalo State will host the first home SUNYAC playoff game in the program’s history on Tuesday (Feb. 20) night at 7 p.m. The fourth-seeded Bengals will host No. 5 Fredonia at 7 p.m. in the SUNYAC quarterfinals. Tickets will be available at the door for $5 for the general public, $2 for Buffalo State students and $3 for other students. The first 300 Buffalo State students with valid ID and the first 200 high school students will get in for free.
