Burchfield-Penney Art Center Announces 2005 Artful Table Series

The Burchfield-Penney Art Center is pleased to announce the 2005 Artful Table series which includes 19 unique events and all proceeds benefit the museum. The Artful Table series brings together extraordinary artists, remarkable chefs and wonderful hosts. Each of these celebrations will take place on selected dates in and around Western New York.
Reservations may be made by calling (716) 878-3818. Due to the limited number of spaces at each event, reservations will be taken on a first received basis. Note that the Artful Table series is a member’s only event. If you are not a member of the Burchfield-Penney, you have the opportunity to join when you make your reservation.

A DELISH! COOKING PARTY

Roll up your sleeves, throw on an apron and get ready to have fun at Buffalo’s hottest new culinary experience! Chef Debbie Clark, owner of Delish!, will share her epicurean recipes and guide participants in the preparation of an array of savory appetizers. Guests will be divided into culinary teams to create the dishes that will then be shared with the whole group. When the cooking is completed, everyone will relax and enjoy the fruits of their labors while listening to upbeat music and sipping glasses of fine wine.

When Dirt Becomes Your Artistic Palette: Bearing no resemblance to the movie or Broadway play but a fitting name for the centerpiece freeform pond in this award winning artful garden. Background music seems to follow the mood as you stroll through Gordon’s various themed gardens while enjoying a selection of wines and cocktails. Enjoy casual hors d’oeuvres followed by a main course of seasonal menu items prepared with fresh garden herbs and other garden edibles. Fresh grilled foods will also be offered. Dessert will be a fantastic surprise! Television personality, author, and garden consultant Sally Cunningham will stroll with guests throughout the evening discussing garden design, plant groupings and art in the garden. In addition, all guests will take home a gardening tips handbook and the evening’s featured recipes.

This delightful evening will begin with a summer supper and tour of artist Jerry Mead’s studio and his collection of regional art. The group will then repair to the greens at Delaware Park for a rousing round of croquet officiated by Tony Billoni, a member of the Buffalo Croquet and Debating Society.

Join Chef Mike Andrzejewski of Tsunami in a world-class Asian feast with a twist. The names of the registrants for this Artful Table will be put in a lottery. One lucky individual or couple will be selected at random to work with Chef Mike to create the menu. On the day of the event the chosen guest(s) will work under Mike’s tutelage in the Tsunami kitchen to help produce the culinary masterpieces that all the participants will enjoy that evening.
