Buffalo State won its second-consecutive New York State Cheerleading Championship in the Large College All-Girl Division today at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. The event is conducted annually by the Central New York Cheer Company.

The Bengals scored a 236.5, defeating SUNYAC rivals Geneseo, who scored a 229.5.

This is the Bengals’ third major title in two years. In 2007, the squad won the New York State Championships and COA National Championships.

The team is lead by second-year Head Coach Reynaldo Rivas and head captain Jill DiPasquale.

The Bengals will next compete at the COA National Championships in April at the Hamburg Argri-Cultural Center.
