Chocolatier Benjamin Desmartins, March 26

Prize-winning chocolate maker Benjamin Desmartins will deliver a lecture on Thursday, March 26, at 7:30 p.m. at Bulger Communication Center.

The founder of “le Comptoir du Cacao,” a family operated chocolate factory located in Paris, France, Desmartins is considered an innovative chocolatier. He has been awarded top prizes at the Salon du Chocolat de Paris and is regularly invited to participate in the salons (professional shows) of Beijing, Moscow, and France.
 
A question-and-answer period will follow Desmartins' lecture (presented in English). A chocolate tasting of assorted samples from his chocolaterie artisanale familiale (artisan family) will be held after the presentation.
 
Proposed by the Délégation Générale of the French Embassy in Washington as part of a French culture promotion project, this event is sponsored locally by the Alliance Francaise de Buffalo and the Modern and Classical Languages Department.
 
Admission (to cover the stipend and travel of the lecturer): $5, full-time students; $10, Alliance Francaise members and Buffalo State personnel; $15, general public.
