Ciolek, Giagios Earn Conference Honors
Men's track and field members Ken Ciolek (Limestone/Bradford Area) and Tim Giagios (Rochester/Gates-Chili) earned SUNYAC accolades for their performance this past weekend at the SUNYAC Track and Field Championships at Oneonta.
Ciolek, a sophomore psychology major, was named to the First Team All-SUNYAC for his performance in the long jump and javelin throw. Ciolek won the long jump, leaping 22’9”, and won Saturday's javelin competition with a throw of 172”. He also tied for fourth in the high jump, clearing 6’.
Giagios took a second place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.46, earning Second Team All-SUNYAC status. The senior health and wellness major was also named the 2005 Buffalo State Male Scholar Athlete.
The men's track and field team finished sixth of eight teams at the SUNYAC Championships. The Bengals will compete next weekend at the NYSCTC Championships at the University of Rochester.
