Cross Country Competes at Brockport Challenge

BROCKPORT, NY--Buffalo State's cross country teams participated in the Brockport Challenge today, with the men's team racing to a third-place finish in the six team field, and the women placing fourth.

Kyle Fenner (N. Syracuse/CNS) paced Buffalo State's men, placing ninth of 64 runners, navigating the short 5K course in 16:50. Nate Culver (Chemung/Waverly) finished 18th (17:21), and Ben Adams (Syracuse/Paul V. Moore) was 20th (17:25).

Margaret Hughes (Elmira/Elmira Free Acad.) led the Bengals' women for the third consecutive meet, finishing fifth of 68 competitors with a time of 20:16. Dee Smelser (Plattsburgh/Plattsburgh) added a seventh-place showing in 20:19.

Buffalo State will return to action on Sept. 29 at the Geneseo Invitational.
