Buffalo State opened it season today, hosting the annual Daniel Walker Invitational at Beaver Island State Park. The Bengals men place seventh of nine teams with 271 points, and the women finished sixth of 10 with 285.

Paul Mesi (Clarence/Clarence) led the Bengals on the men's side, placing 40th of 96 runners with a time of 28:54 over the 8K course. Shane Reynolds (Richland/Pulaski) finished 48th in 29:25.

On the women's side, Aleksandra Halter (Clarence/Clarence) finished 28th of 115 with a time of 20:43. Freshman Margaret Hughes (Elmira/Elmira Academy) was 31st in 20:46.

Buffalo Sate will travel to the North Country Invitational next Friday.
