Buffalo State's cross country teams opened their 2004 seasons today by hosting the Daniel Walker Memorial Invitational at Beaver Island State Park. The men's team placed sixth of eight teams with 255 points, while the women's team was incomplete with just four runners.

The top finisher for the Bengals was Shane Reynolds (Richland/Pulaski) finishing 34th of 114 in 28:52. Jenny Vacanti (Niagara Falls/Niagara Wheatfield) paced the women's team placing 24th of 97 in 20:52.
