Cross Country Runs at State Championships
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY—Buffalo State’s cross country teams both ran incomplete lineups, with just two men and two women competing today at the New York State Cross Country Championships at Saratoga State Park, hosted by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Margaret Hughes (Elmira/Elmira Free Academy) placed 37th of 142 runners in the women’s 5K race, clocking 19:07. Jen Bernard (Hyde Park/FDR) added a 112th-place showing, in 20:55.
On the men’s side, Kyle Fenner (N. Syracuse/CNS) was 55th of 144, navigating the 8K course in 27:01. Nate Culver (Chemung/Waverly) was 112th with a time of 28:40.
Buffalo State will run at the NCAA regionals at NYU next Saturday.
