Prominent choreographers David Kraft of Toronto and Amy Taravella, artistic and executive director of Buffalo's ALT Theatre, will join Buffalo State faculty members and alumni in a dance showcase Friday, December 2, and Saturday, December 3, in Upton Hall's Warren Enters Theatre.
The fifth annual showcase represents myriad genres—from fusion to post-modern—and includes performances by assistant professors Carlos Jones and Joy Guarino and adjunct instructor Leanne Rinelli. A few recent alumni also will participate in the show, which begins at 8:00 p.m. and runs about one hour.
“This performance gives faculty a chance to show our professional work, and it helps students see us not only as professors but also as working artists,” Jones said. While Buffalo State dancers are encouraged to attend performances in the community, he said, “It’s more personal to see work on their home stage.”
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased through the Student Union and Rockwell Hall box offices, by calling (716) 878-3005 or ordered online at www.buffalostate.edu/theater.
