Football Player Mike Mikolaichik and Diver Nicole Rutkowski
Football player Mike Mikolaichik (Hilton/Hilton) and diver Nicole Rutkowski (Williamsville/Williamsville North) were named Buffalo State Co-Athletes of the Week.
Mikolaichik, a junior quarterback, helped lead the Bengals to their third win of the season on Saturday, 26-0, at Plymouth State. He scored a pair of rushing touchdowns from five and 51 yards, and also threw a 48-yard touchdown pass. He finished the day 17-for-29 for 183 yards, and was also the team's leading rusher with 94 yards on eight carries.
Rutkowski, a freshman, set a pair of school records in an exhibition meet on Friday. The diver set new Buffalo State standards on both the one and three-meter boards with scores of 242.05 and 252.80 respectively.
