Football player Mike Potter (Allegany/Salamanca) was named the Buffalo State Athlete of the Week.
Potter, a senior defensive back, made two game-changing plays as the Bengals earned their first win of the season, 16-9, over visiting Frostburg. Potter returned an interception 48 yards to the Bobcats 10-yard line late in the first half, to set up a short field goal to give Buffalo State a 10-0 lead at the intermission. In the fourth quarter, Potter blocked a punt,recovered the ball and returned it eight yards to the Bobcats five-yard line, setting up a Bengal touchdown to extend the lead to 16-9. Potter also made four tackles in the game.
