Football Team Announces 2004 Captains

Buffalo State's football team announced its 2004 captains will be Michael Holbok (Buffalo/St. Joe's), Nick Warren (Cheektowaga/W. Seneca East), Thomas Pokigo (Lackawanna/Lackawanna) and Mike Mikolaichik (Hilton/Hilton).

Holbok, a senior defensive end, is a consensus Preseason All-American after leading the nation in 2003 with 28 tackles for losses and ranked in the top-10 in the country with 12.0 sacks.

Warren, a senior, will start at strong safety. He has led the Bengals in tackles in each of the past two seasons and has 199 total tackles in three seasons.

Pokigo, also a senior, will start at center for the second straight season after transferring from Erie Community College.

Mikolaichik, a junior, will start at quarterback for the second season. After transferring from Cortland last season, he passed for 1,617 yards and eight touchdowns.

The Bengals will open the 2004 campaign this Saturday at Division I-AA Robert Morris in Moon Township, PA.
