Former Bengal Shines in European Football League
Former Buffalo State linebacker Perry Taglienti (Lancaster/Lancaster) had a record-breaking 2005 season as he led the Stockholm Mean Machines to a Swedish Championship in the European Federation of American Football.
Taglienti was named the Defensive Player of the Year in the Swedish League, setting a single-season league record with 124 tackles. He also set a new league best for interceptions by a linebacker with seven, and added eight sacks, seven forced fumbles and two touchdowns. He was also nominated for the Import Player of the Year Award.
He led Buffalo State in 2004 with 109 tackles and was First Team All-Atlantic Central Football Conference selection.
