Four Bengals Earn SUNYAC Basketball Honors
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced the 2002-03 All-SUNYAC basketball teams tonight in Utica, NY, and recognized four Buffalo State players.
On the men's side, juniors Josh Becker (Frontier) and Perry Davis (Seneca) were both selected to the First Team. Becker finished the regular season second in the conference in scoring averaging 18.3 points-per-game and was fifth in rebounding averging 7.3. He also finished third in steals with 2.21 per-game. Davis was the SUNYAC's top rebounder, averaging 11.0 per-game, and averaged 13.1 points. In addition, he led the league in steals-per-game with 2.39.
Senior Abby Kochan (West Canada) represented the women's team on the All-SUNYAC Second Team, and Dionne Turnage (Traditional) was named Co-First Year Player of the Year. Kochan finished tenth in the conference averaging 12.3 points-per-game and was second in rebounding with 9.0 per-outing. Turnage also averaged 12.3 points-per game and added 5.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists during her freshman campaign.
