Fredonia Downs Women's Lacrosse, 14-10

BUFFALO, NY—Fredonia (4-2/1-0) ended Buffalo State’s (7-1/0-1) seven-game winning streak as the visiting Blue Devils defeated the Bengals, 14-10, in a SUNYAC game today at Coyer Field.

Freshman Katie Henderson (Lakeview/Frontier) led the Bengals with three goals. Stephanie Georgopolous (Port Jefferson Station/Comsewogue), Katie Lyons (Williamsville/Williamsville North) and Shantel Ackley (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) each chipped in two goals and one assist and Joni Hill (Hagersville, ON/Hagersville) also scored for Buffalo State.

Buffalo State got on the board first, but Fredonia responded with six goals in the first period and took a 6-3 lead into halftime. The Bengals scored the first four goals of the second period to take a one-goal lead, but again found themselves behind after the Blue Devils added two quick markers. Fredonia controlled the clock the last 15 minutes of the game, allowing only three goals, while scoring six.

Buffalo State will travel to Oneonta on Saturday for its next conference game at 11 a.m.
