BUFFALO, NY— Brad Cooper (Minticello/ Monticello) scored a game-high 29 points to lead Fredonia (7-16/4-10) to a 79-70 victory at Buffalo State (7-14/4-10) and keep its playoff hope alive in a SUNYAC contest tonight at the Sports Arena.

Rich Buckman (Syracuse/ Heninger) added 23 points, including 12 of 12 shooting from the free-throw line.

James Tyndal (Bronx/ Msgr. Scanlon) led Buffalo State with 21 points and six assists. Jamar Gray (Rochester/ Bishop Kearney) added 20 points.

Each team held the lead on multiple occasions in the first half with the Bengals taking a 29-28 lead into the intermission. Fredonia exploded out of the locker room, however, capitalizing on an 11-0 run and building a lead of as many as 18 points. The Bengals mounted a late rally, cutting the deficit to seven, but it was too little, too late. Fredonia shot 52-percent from the floor, compared to 43-percent shooting by Buffalo State.

Buffalo State will host Morrisville on Friday at 8 p.m.
