Lacrosse Topples Allegheny, 13-5

Shantel Ackley (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) and Erin Silky (Liverpool/Liverpool) each netted three goals to help Buffalo State to a 13-5 road victory over Allegheny College this evening.

Allegheny struck first but Ackley answered for the Bengals, netting the team’s first two goals in the first half. Silky posted two unassisted tallies in the second half and netted one off a pass from teammate Ashley Parker (Watertown/Watertown). Chelsey Frail (Hilton/East Rochester) and Morgan Perry (Grand Island/Grand Island) both tallied two markers, while Tara Ammerman (Naples/Marcus Whitman), Leah Bernal (Marilla/Iroquois) and Parker all recorded single goals for Buffalo State. Janine Forman (N. Massapequa/Plainedge) racked up 13 saves as the Bengals out shot Allegheny 27-23.

The Bengals advance to 2-0 overall and will open their home season at Coyer Field tomorrow against RIT at 4 p.m.
