Buffalo State alumnus Michael Martin, '95, executive director of Native American Community Services in Buffalo, will address the campus community on Tuesday, March 6, at 4:00 p.m. in E. H. Butler Library 210 as part of Buffalo State's Leadership Lecture Series and Native American Heritage Month.
Martin is an Onondaga of the Beaver Clan from the Six Nations of the Grand River reservation in Southern Ontario, who was born and raised in Buffalo.
He was named executive director of Native American Community Services of Erie and Niagara Counties Inc. in 2004.
In 2007, he traveled to Guatemala and Ecuador to participate in a cultural exchange and conference on sustaining indigenous cultures. In 2008, Martin was selected by the Americans for Indian Opportunity to become one of 18 Native Americans across the United States to participate in the organization's two-year American Indian Ambassador Leadership Program.
His talk is open to the campus community.
