Buffalo State Men’s Soccer Coach Rudy Pompert named juniors Jon Lewis (Newport, WALES/St. Teilus), Kevin Brenner (Plattsburgh/Plattsburgh) and Dennis Behrens (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) the team’s captains for the 2003 season.

Lewis returns for his second season with the Bengals after finishing third on the team in scoring a year ago, tallying three goals and four assists. He will make the move from midfield to forward this season and should help bolster the team’s offense. Also in his second season at Buffalo State, Brenner will use his size and strength to help anchor the team’s defensive corps. Behrens is a third-year player who has started 33 games in his first two seasons. He is a solid defensive midfielder with good vision and strong technical skills.

The Bengals will open the 2003 campaign on Saturday, August 30 at the LaRoche Tournament in Pittsburgh, PA. Buffalo State will open its home schedule on September 9 against Nazareth at 4 p.m. at Coyer Field.
