Lyons, Parker Earn SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Honors
FREDONIA, NY—Buffalo State’s Katie Lyons (Williamsville/ Williamsville North) and Ashley Parker (Watertown/ Watertown) garnered Second Team honors today as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference teams for the 2007 season.
Lyons, a junior social work major, is a first-time honoree and finished third on the team in scoring with 38 points, while recording 26 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers. The junior midfielder also set a new school record for assists in a single season with 15 helpers on the year, surpassing the previous record of 14 set in 2003.
Parker, a junior business administration major, collects All-Conference honors for the second consecutive year, as she was a First Team selection in 2006. A team captain, she started all 15 games and led the squad with 36 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers.
Buffalo State tied a school record for wins in a season, posting an overall mark of 10-5, including a seven-game winning streak to start the season.
