Men's Basketball Downs Oswego, 72-64
Perry Davis (Buffalo/Seneca) scored 27 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to help lead defending SUNYAC Champion Buffalo State (2-1/1-0) past Oswego (2-2/0-1) tonight in the conference opener for both teams.
Buffalo State took a 41-28 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Lakers closed the gap in the second half, pulling within four points at 68-64 with 34 seconds to play. Buffalo State hit six consecutive field goals in the waning moments, however, to seal the victory.
Joshua Becker (Hamburg/Frontier) added 11 points for the Bengals, and Kevin Roche (Williamsville/Williamsville East) and Justin Konst (Williamsville/Williamsville East) each scored nine points. Oswego was led by Dave Ponzas (Solvay/Solvay) 24 points and eight rebounds. Luke Sinkler (Bay Shore/St. John the Baptist) scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Lakers.
