Men's Basketball Falls to Albright in Title Game, 81-76

READING, Pa.--Despite 25 points from Gregg Jones (Syracuse/Liverpool), Buffalo State (8-4) dropped an 81-76 decision to host Albright (9-3) today in the championship game of the Albright Tournament.

Buffalo State trailed 45-39 at halftime, and Albright led 69-55 with 4:57 remaining in the game. The Bengals battled to within two at 78-76 with 41 seconds to play, but Albright hit three free throws in the closing moments to seal the win.

Jones was 9 of 22 from the field, including going 5 of 10 from three-point range. Jobany Tirado (Syracuse/Corcoran) added a career-high 20 points and added four assists. Dante Griggs (Bronx/Chester Academy) had 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench.

Jones and Tirado were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Buffalo State will return to SUNYAC play at home on Friday against New Paltz at 8 p.m.
