Men's Basketball Falls to Geneseo, 75-66
BUFFALO, NY— Greg Spears (Olean/Olean) scored a game-high 23 points and had 10 rebounds as visiting Geneseo (12-4/6-1) defeated Buffalo State (9-7/4-4), 75-66, in a SUNYAC game tonight at the Sports Arena.
Scott Morton (Syracuse/Westhill) had 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists for Geneseo. Jeff Howe (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) scored 12 points and had 11 boards, and Tarik Kitson (New York/Grimsley NC) added 12 points and 10 rebounds.
DJ Nubine-Mitchell (Marina, Ca/Seaside) led Buffalo State with 17 points. John Lawal (Hempstead/Uniondale) added 13 points and nine rebounds, Bubba Wood (Brooklyn/Abraham Lincoln) scored 12 points, and Ishmael Skylark (Seaside, CA/Seaside) had 10.
The first half featured eight lead changes and came to a close with Geneseo in front, 34-31. The Blue Knights never looked back in the second frame, leading by as many as 17 points. Geneseo outscored the Bengals in the paint, 42-32.
Buffalo State will travel to Plattsburgh on Friday for an 8 p.m. start.
