Men's Basketball Knocked Off at Potsdam, 59-45

Buffalo State was outscored by Potsdam 21-5 over the final eight minutes tonight in the SUNYAC quarterfinals, as the Bears ousted the defending conference champion, 58-45.

After trailing 27-22 at halftime, Buffalo State rallied to take a 40-38 lead with just over eight minutes remaining, but Potsdam dominated the Bengals down the stretch. The Bengals shot just 33-percent from the field and made 3-of-17 three pointers and 6-of-12 free throws. Potsdam scored 23 of its 58 points on the free throw line.

Senior Joshua Becker (Hamburg/Frontier) led the Bengals with 13 points. Freshman Aaron Carter (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) added 10 points and eight rebounds. Justin Konst (Williamsville/Williamsville East) chipped in seven points and eight rebounds.

Buffalo State finished the season with a 13-12 overall record. Potsdam (16-10) will play the winner of #7 Plattsburgh/#2 Oswego in the semifinals on Friday.
