Men's Basketball Pulls Away From Geneseo, 70-58

BUFFALO, NY—Dante Griggs (Bronx/Chester Academy) scored a career-high 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds as Buffalo State (12-10/6-7) defeated visiting Geneseo (9-12/4-8), 70-58, in a SUNYAC game tonight at the Sports Arena.

Buffalo State jumped out to a 33-27 lead at the intermission. Geneseo rallied early in the second half, taking its first lead of the game at 45-43 with 10:19 remaining. Buffalo State responded with an 18-3 run and never looked back as it cruised to the 12-point victory.

Gregg Jones (Syracuse/Nottingham) joined Griggs in double-figures with 16 points. Dion Mozelle (Rego Park/Xaverian) and Charles Hepburn (Rochester/Greece Arcadia) each added 12 points, and Mozelle also had eight rebounds.

Joe Kling (Getzville/St. Joe’s) led Geneseo with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Scott Morton (Syracuse/Westhill), Tarik Kitson (New York/Grimsley) and Scott Sciera (Livonia/Livonia) all scored nine points for the Blue Knights.

Buffalo State will play at Potsdam on Friday at 8 p.m.
