Men’s Basketball Shoots Past Potsdam, 82-74

BUFFALO, NY—Junior James Tyndal (Bronx/ Msgr. Scanlon) netted a career-best 16 points and had nine assists as Buffalo State (4-5/2-1) snapped its three-game losing skid with an 82-74 victory over Potsdam (5-5/1-2) in a SUNYAC game tonight at the Sports Arena.

Jamar Gray (Rochester/Bishop Kearney) added a game-high 23 points for the Bengals. Dion Mozelle (Rego Park/Xaverian) added 13 points, and Santo LaMar (Buffalo/Maryvale) had 10 points.

Damon Brown (Brooklyn/Pt. Richmond) led Potsdam with 17 points. Serge Clement (St. Albans/St. John’s Prep) chipped in 13 points, and Brandon Siskavich (Peru/Peru) had nine points and 11 rebounds.

Buffalo State led by as many as eight in the first half and clung to a 33-31 lead at halftime. Potsdam pulled in front by six at 47-41 in the second frame, but the Bengals used a 12-3 run to regain a lead it would not relinquish. Potsdam outrebounded Buffalo State, 46-33, but the Bengals shot 59-percent from the field, compared to 36-percent shooting by the Bears.

Buffalo State will host nationally-ranked Plattsburgh tomorrow at 4 p.m. Potsdam will travel to Fredonia.
