Men's Hockey Edges Potsdam in Final Second, 4-3

POTSDAM, NY--Sean Burke (Barrie, ON/St. Peter's) scored his second goal of the game with 0.3 seconds left in overtime to give Buffalo State (6-7/4-3) a 4-3 win over Potsdam and complete a first-ever road sweep of its weekend SUNYAC games against North Country opponents. The Bengals upset Plattsburgh on Friday night.

Burke opened the scoring 5:53 into the game, but Potsdam evened the slate at 1-1 later in the period. Buffalo State took the lead again early in the second stanza on a goal by Greg Prybylski (Cheektowaga/Cheektowaga), but Potsdam responded again minutes later. Early in the third period, it was Potsdam that took its first lead, but the Bengals answered at 11:10 on Jeff Mok's (Richmond Hill, ON/Richmond Hill) first goal of the season. Buffalo State killed off a penalty for too many men on the ice late in the third period, and Burke beat teh buzzer in overtime to give the Bengals the win.

Potsdam outshot the Bengals 37-36. Sean Sheehan (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) made 34 saves for Buffalo State. Sean O'Connell (Buffalo/St. Francis) added two assists.

Buffalo State will host Lebanon Valley for a two-game non-conference set next Friday and Saturday.
