Fredonia (1-1) took a 4-0 lead in the first period and cruised to a 6-2 victory over Buffalo State (1-1) today in a non-conference game at the SUNYAC Challenge in Cortland.

Forward Morgan McElman (Bayside, NB/Berkshire Prep) and defenseman Sean Castagna (San Jose, CA/Ballarmine Prep) each had a goal and an assist for the Bengals. Sean Sheehan (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) made 45 saves for Buffalo State.

The same two teams will meet again on Thursday evening in the first game of the Buffalo State Invitational.
