WEST WARWICK, RI--Buffalo State (7-9) could not overcome an early three-goal deficit as it lost to host Johnson & Wales (4-10), 5-3, tonight at the West Warwick Civic Center.

The Wilcats built on the 1-0 first period advantage with two goals early in the second, before Sean Burke (Barrie, ON/St. Peter's) finally got the Bengals on the board. After another goal by the Wildcats, Greg Prybylski (Cheektowaga/Cheektowaga) pulled the Bengals back to within two. Johnson & Wales added an insurance goal early in the third period, and Buffalo State's Mike DeMarco (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) added a late tally to complete the scoring.

Buffalo State will look for redemption tomorrow against the Wildcats at 5 p.m.
