Men's Hockey Skates Past Neumann, 3-1
Josh Magnuson scored twice to lead Buffalo State to a 3-1 victory over Neumann this evening at the Buffalo State Ice Arena.
The Bengals opened the scoring in the first period off a shot by freshman Mike Pye (Ingersoll, ON/IDCI), his first career goal in just his second game as a Bengal. Neumann answered in the second period to tie the game.
Senior Josh Magnuson (Chisago, MN/Chisago Lakes) scored the game winner 15:36 in the third period off a pass from freshman Jeff Mok (Richmond Hill, ON/Richmond Hill). Magnuson found the back of the again at 19:19 to seal up the win for Buffalo State. Sophomore Sean O’Connell (Buffalo/St. Francis) and senior Morgan McElman (Bayside, NB/ Berkshire Prep) registered the assists. Sophomore Shawn Sheehan (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) made 29 saves in net for the Bengals while they out shot the Knights 43-30.
Buffalo State advances to 5-11-1 overall and will travel to Hobart Tuesday, Jan. 18 for a 7 p.m. game.
