Men's Soccer Downs Morrisville, 2-0

MORRISVILLE, NY—Freshman Tony Schiappa (Williamsville/ Williamsville East) notched a goal and an assist to lead Buffalo State (5-4-1/3-2) to a 2-0 win over host Morrisville (5-6/1-4) in SUNYAC action today.

Buffalo State opened the scoring in the 39th minute when Schiappa found the back of the net off a direct kick opportunity. Joshua Mitchell (Schenectady/S. Colonie) added an insurance goal at the 73:14 mark, putting a header past the Morrisville goalkeeper.

Buffalo State outshot Morrisville, 25-11, and held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks. Dan Corti (Amawalk/Somers) made eight saves in goal, picking up his third shutout of the season.

The Bengals will host Cortland on Friday at 4 p.m.
