Mikolaichik, Kirsch Earn ACFC Weekly Honors
Buffalo State quarterback Mike Mikolaichik (Hilton/Hilton) was named the Atlantic Central Football Conference (ACFC) Co-Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Bengals to a 34-22 win over Plymouth State on Saturday. Linebacker Bill Kirsch (E. Aurora/Attica) was named to the ACFC Defensive Weekly Honor Roll.
Mikolaichik, a senior elementary education major, played a role in all five Buffalo State touchdowns, throwing for three and rushing for two more. He was 15 of 22 for 187 yards on the day. He has thrown for 1,554 yards and 12 touchdowns in seven games this season.
Kirsch, a senior health and wellness major, anchored the Bengals’ defense with 10 stops, including a sack and three tackles in the backfield.
Buffalo State will look for a third-consecutive victory this Saturday at No. 16 Thiel.
