Nazareth Shoots Past Women's Basketball, 66-49
ROCHESTER, NY--Shareese Hamer (Erie, PA/Strong Vincent) scored 19 points and had seven rebounds and three blocks, but Buffalo State (1-3)lost to at Nazareth (2-2), 66-49, tonight in a non-conference game.
Lindsay Smith (Ithaca/Ithaca) added 12 points for the Bengals. Buffalo State won the battle of the boards, outrebounding the Golden Flyers, 42-30, including 25-8 on the offensive glass. The Bengals shot just 32-percent from the field, however, compared to 54-percent shooting by the Nazareth, and got just six points off the bench. Nazareth led wire-to-wire and held a 32-24 advantage at halftime.
Buffalo State will open league play on Friday when it will host SUNYIT for a 6 p.m. tip off.
