The 2002-2003 Great Performers Series, presented by M&T Bank, opens at the Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall with the acclaimed improv comedy troupe Chicago City Limits on Friday September 27, 2002 at 8:00pm. Tickets are $25.00 general public; $20.00 for seniors; and $15.00 for students. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the Rockwell Hall Box Office, 1300 Elmwood Ave. or by calling 716-878-3005. Box Office hours are Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm.

Chicago City Limits is currently New York's longest-running show. Founded in 1977 as an off-shoot of the famed Second City improv group, Chicago City Limits has been entertaining audiences for more than twenty-two years with its unique style of improvisational comedy.

The troupe of six actors, accompanied by a pianist, weaves a one-of-a-kind performance that relies on quick thinking and comic timing. Using suggestions yelled out from the audience, the cast invents hilarious scenes - everything from mini-musicals to game shows - on the spot. They have been hailed by The New York Times as "hysterical and unpredictable?ingenious and very, very funny."

The impressive list of guest artists who have improvised with Chicago City Limits over the years includes Paul Reiser, Robin Williams, Brett Butler, and Bill Irwin. Chicago City Limits has also made numerous TV appearances, including segments on The Today Show, McLaughlin, The Joan Rivers Show, The Jackie Mason Show, Comedy Central, and Good Day New York. The troupe has also appeared on HBO, CNN and CNBC.

This presentation of Chicago City Limits is part of Buffalo State College's homecoming festivities. The Great Performer Series is sponsored by M&T Bank, The Buffalo News and WBFO.
