While we’re sure that Christen Shaffer, ’06, didn’t plan it, being named "Teacher of the Year" during Buffalo State’s Year of the Teacher is especially fitting.
Shaffer, who left Buffalo to take a job teaching at Bramlett Elementary School in Auburn, Georgia, was named "Teacher of the Year" there. School principal Cindy Propst told the Barrow County News that Shaffer is “very good with collaborative planning with other teachers in her grade level; up to date with the latest types of teaching strategies, and really knows her standards and what needs to be taught in first grade…She does a great job with teaching her young children. We have been so pleased with her because she’s so positive, upbeat and puts a lot of effort into her job every single day.”
