Niagara Falls, Peace Bridge, and More to Go Orange for New Buffalo State President

A number of Western New York landmarks, including Niagara Falls and the Peace Bridge, will be illuminated orange Tuesday night to commemorate the inauguration of Buffalo State’s ninth president, Katherine S. Conway-Turner. Dr. Conway-Turner will be formally installed as the college’s president on Tuesday starting at 12:15 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall.

Both the American and Canadian sides of Niagara Falls will go orange that evening from 10:00 to 10:15 p.m. The Peace Bridge will be alight in orange from dusk Tuesday night to 1:00 a.m. early Wednesday morning. Additionally, the iconic Electric Tower in downtown Buffalo and the new One Canalside building will be illuminated orange on Tuesday night.

On campus, Buffalo State’s Burchfield Penney Art Center and Rockwell Hall will also be lighted Bengal orange Tuesday evening.

Tuesday’s formal investiture of Dr. Conway-Turner will mark the end of a series of Inauguration Week celebrations, including a ribbon-cutting for the $25.7 million renovation to Houston Gym, the Student Union Bash, a community reception in the college’s new Science and Mathematics Complex, and a city-wide Community Service Day in which more than 400 students, faculty, and staff participated.
