BUFFALO, NY—No. 4-ranked Elmira (15-4-3/9-1-2) completed the weekend sweep of Buffalo State (7-15-1/5-9) with a 5-0 win today at the Ice Arena.

Elmira opened the scoring with a power play goal late in the first period and added two more markers in both the second and third stanzas to seal the victory.

Elmira outshot the Bengals 44-17. The Soaring Eagles were perfect on the penalty kill, as Buffalo State was 0 for 7 with the extra skater. Rachel Bennett (Howell, MI/Howell) made 39 saves for the Bengals.

The loss ends the regular season for Buffalo State, but the Bengals return to the ice on Feb. 27 for an exhibition game against McMaster (ON) at the Ice Arena at 6 p.m.
