Oneonta Edges Women's Basketball, 60-55
BUFFALO, NY—Gabrielle Doemel (Latham/Holy Names) scored 18 points and had five assists as Oneonta (15-6/9-3) outlasted Buffalo State (7-14/4-8), 60-55, tonight in a SUNYAC contest at the Sports Arena.
Oneonta led 26-20 at the half and used a 14-2 run to open the second stanza and push its lead to 16 points. Buffalo State responded with a 15-0 run to climb back in the game, and finally evened the score at 50-50 with 1:53 remaining. A pair of Buffalo State turnovers and nine free throws down the stretch allowed Oneonta to seal the victory.
Doemel was 5 of 14 from the field and 7 of 10 from the free throw line. Megan Bucci (Marlboro/Our Lady of Lourdes) added 12 points and seven rebounds for Oneonta, and Shannon Weir (Oneonta/Milford) had nine points and five boards.
Darnika Moseley (Liverpool/Liverpool) led the Bengals with 14 points and four steals. Toya Parks (Brooklyn/MLK) added 12 points and six assists, and Desi Gibson (Rochester/Edison Tech) had 10 points and six rebounds.
The Bengals will host Geneseo on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
